Field of Honor & Veterans Park

The Field of Honor is a lasting tribute to those men and women who have served our country in war and peace. Those who survived were forever changed. Those who died were forever young in their loved one's memories.

There are several beautiful gardens throughout the park, including the Freedom Steps garden by the Karner Blue Butterfly Garden Club. Created from old stone ballpark bleachers, the Freedom Steps feature a lovely tiered garden. The Karner Blue Butterfly Garden Club continues to beautify our downtown and city with gorgeous hanging flower baskets on Main Street.

About Christkindl

Some European regions believe in Christkindl, the Christmas fairy. The belief in Christkindl originated from the Christ child. On Christmas Eve, Christkindl enters homes and decorates the family's Christmas tree, leaving behind gifts for the children. Around the world, communities attend Christkindl markets where they buy gifts, enjoy local delicatessens, and celebrate other festivities.
